2 Year Old "H" {Bettendorf Photographer}

I have been doing this little guys pictures since he was 3 months old.  Every time we have gotten together he is just so happy and smiley.  Sadly, they are going to be moving so I probably won't be doing his pictures again. We did a quick mini session on Saturday and I have a bunch of cute pictures of him.  I don't think there was a single one that was bad.  Enjoy your sneak peak!

My girls

Finally, I was able to do a couple of shots outside!  Both of my daughters birthday's are within a month or so of each other so I thought I'd try to get some quick pictures in while it was somewhat decent out.  It was super windy, but was a great overcast day for pictures.  I guess conditions can't always be perfect!

My little girl

My daughter, Jordan, turned 7 years old this past weekend.  I really cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.  It seems like just yesterday she looking up and me and saying "bup" for me to pick her up, and leaning her ABC's.  Now she is a beautiful, smart, funny and very sassy 7 year old.  I cannot imagine what her teenage years have in store for me.  Hopefully she is going to be as well behaved as I was :)

I finally have a picture with us together!  Whenever I ask my husband to take one either half of our heads are missing or it is totally out of focus.  I think in the past 7 years I'm in a total of maybe 10 pictures.  I always say if something ever happened to me my kids wouldn't even know what I looked like because I'm not in any pictures!

We had her party at the Mad Potter in Bettendorf and it was fantastic!  We had the room for 2 hours and I wish I had only done it for 1.5 hours.  The last half hour I had to improvise and play simon says!

3 month old {Bettendorf Child Photographer}

I can't believe we did "J"'s 3 month session....well, 4 month ;)  This little guy looks so much like his big brother.  I wish I had some from his 3 month session on my computer to compare!

Spring/Summer Sessions

Spring is finally here…sort of!

I’m sure everyone is just like me and is looking forward to finally being able to get outside and enjoy the weather.  Being stuck in the studio for the past 7 months I cannot wait to get outside and start doing more sessions outdoors!

Just a quick reminder about outdoor sessions.  Because of lighting, outdoor sessions are best in the early evening (6:30ish) or first thing in the morning (8ish).  The downside to morning sessions in the spring is that you may have the wet morning grass to deal with, but it is cooler on those hot humid summer days. Mornings are definitely better for those with young kids who maybe are starting to get tired and won’t be very cooperative for a session in the early evening. You know your kids best!

With the summer months come kids activities, events, vacations, weddings, etc.  I realize that we all have hectic schedules and will try my very best to work with you.  Keep in mind that weekend sessions book sooner than weekday sessions, so if you know you will be wanting/needing a weekend session it would be better to book something sooner rather than later. My Saturday’s in June are almost booked and I’m sure Sunday’s will be soon to follow.

Summer is a great time to do family pictures for Christmas Card pictures as well.  How great would it feel to have the annual Christmas Card session to be done months in advance!

Mini-Sessions- In January I started offering mini sessions and they have been very popular!  A mini session is $107 (including tax) and includes a 20-30 minute session and a CD including 8-10 fully edited images with a print release. These sessions are perfect if you just need a few great pictures and don’t need multiple clothing or background changes.   These can be outdoor or studio sessions. Because of the extra potential time involved these are not available for children under 6 months or family sessions.

Frames-A few months ago I became a vendor for a company called The Organic Bloom.  They make faboulous frames!  If you are like me and afraid of color in your house these make a great addition to your home décor!  They also have a Facebook page where you can see more styles/color.  If you have been to the studio lately you have seen these frames going up my stairwayJ

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to set up a session!

Mr. "R" turns 6 months! {Quad City Baby Photographer}

Mr. "R" is a part of my baby's first year plan and came in for his 6 month session.   I was happy to hear that he was sitting by himself...well, sort of!!!  Mom had to be right there to catch him if he decided to lean over, but you could never tell that from the pics!  I also used my bed setup with the blue tufted background.  This was the first time I've used it all together and I think it turned out super cute!

Adorable baby "O" {Bettendorf Children's Photographer}

Baby "O" came in yesterday for her 3 month shoot.  She was full of big smiles!  We rescheduled hoping that the bunny ears and tail mom had ordered would come in, but they never did:(
I used this new springy set for the first time.  I'm loving how it turned out...and it doesn't hurt that the baby in the nest is so stinkin' cute either!
This was also the first time I used the light grey background and I think it might be my new favorite color!  It should match with just about everything but can still be bright and cheerful depending on the clothing colors.

What to wear-April {Quad Cities Photographer}
