Riley Kate is here!

I had my baby girl, Riley Kate, on May 11th.  Doctors were telling me they thought she would be over 10 lbs!!  She was 8lbs 13oz and 20in.  Her brother and sister just love her to death.  Drew will just sit and stare at her and say how much he loves her :)

Since I had a C-Section I haven't been up to taking a bunch of pictures yet.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to do that later this week.  I did manage to get a very short session in with her one day.

I've been trying to catch up on my sleep.  You know that lack of sleep is part of having a newborn, but you forgot how hard it really is trying to function on 1-2 hours of sleep!!

Update to Baby's 1st Year Plan{Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

I have had a few requests to change my Baby's 1st Year plan a bit.  I have had a few parents that want to skip the 3 month session and want to add an 18 month session instead.  I have no problem with that as long as all 4 sessions are done within 1 year.  I totally understand why some parents might want to skip the 3 month session.  Some 3 month olds have great head control and are able to lift and push themselves up a bit and are super smiley, while others just aren't quite there yet.

So, the "new" BFY plan can be done at 3,6,9, and 12 months or at 6,9,12, and 18 months.  The BFY plan is $200 and includes 4 sessions to be done within 1 year and also includes 25% off all prints and a free 8X10 with each session.

If you have any other questions, please email me kristin@kristingeertsphotography.com and let me know!

Birthday Boy! {Bettendorf Photographer}

Oh my gosh, how cute is this little guy!!!  I just loved editing this session....every time I would look at a new photo he would  make me smile :)  I really think that he has got to be the happiest baby ever.  He is a part of my Baby's 1st Year plan, so this is my 4th time photographing him and he has been great each and every time.  His parents must be doing something right :)  I have so many cute pictures of him that I had a hard time picking what I wanted to put on the sneak peak, so that is why there are more than usual!

This was my last session before I go on maternity leave.  I plan to begin shooting again at the end of June.  If you want a session for this summer email me and we can get something scheduled!

ETA-for some reason they are looking a little blurry on my screen...but if you click on the image you will get a clearer image.  Hmm....wonder what's going on with that??

Finding new locations {Quad Cities Photographer}

I have one more session before I go on maternity leave and they would like to try to have it outdoors.  Well, it isn't exactly pretty out yet, so I dragged Drew out even though he isn't feeling well to try out some spots.  I found one spot that looks promising!

6 Month Old "H" {Children's Photography in the Quad Cities}

Little "H" came all the way from the Iowa City area today to have his 6 month pictures taken.  He isn't quite sitting on his own yet so we were a little bit  limited in the number of poses that we could do.  Overall he did a great job!  Not quite as many smiles as I'm sure mom was hoping for, but he has the most gorgeous eyes that he doesn't have to be smiling to take cute pictures:)  Enjoy your sneak peak!

Spring! {Quad Cities Child Photographer}

Now that the weather is starting to get nice I thought I'd go in the backyard for a few minutes and try out the new camera and lens!  The lens I've had for awhile, but haven't really had a chance to use it out of the studio yet!  I broke my #1 rule....not having any writing or logos on clothing...but these were just quick snaps of Drew.  I can't wait till the grass is green and leaves on the trees!

10 day old twins {Photographer in the Quad Cities}

I had the opportunity to photograph twin boys this past weekend. Their mom was friends with my sister in high school.  The boys were sleeping when they got here and did great for the first 20 minutes or so.  It's a good thing we got some shots in right away because after that either one of the boys would be awake.  The hard part about photographing twins is that they hardly ever seem to sleep/be awake at the same time....at least for me!  Enjoy your sneak peak!

9 Months Old! {Quad Cities Child Photographer}

I did Mr. "H"'s 9 month pictures last week.  Boy is this little guy on the move!  He didn't want to sit still for even a second.  I didn't get as many images as I hoped to...I tried every trick that I know to get him to sit and none of it worked!  We still managed to get a few good ones though:)

Little Miss "M" 6 Months Old {Quad Cities Photographer}

Little "M" is a part of my Baby's 1st Year plan and stopped by today for her 6 month session.  She did SO great and was entirely different baby than when I last saw her at 3 months.  She was all smiles the entire time until she tipped over and bumped her head:(  Enjoy your sneak peak!

New Blog...

I'm working on a new blog since my old one was no longer going to be hosted at the same server.  So far it is going alright, but I've noticed already that the pictures don't look as clear and crisp as they should. This is just one of the issues that I'm going to have to figure out over the next few days!  I promise you that they don't look like that in real life...if you go to the main website you'll see how they should look.

I'll be working on building the new blog and changing the look over the next few days and weeks, so if you log on and it looks a mess, that is probably why:)

12 Day Old Baby "A" {Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

Meet baby "A". She was 12 days old today and did a fantastic job!! I went to their house this past Friday an was there about 2.5 hours and she didn't want to sleep at all. I'm so happy that I had them come back today to try again!!

Maternity Leave

As many of you may already know, I am expecting baby #3 in May! We have picked out a name, started to get the room ready and I’ve started getting all the clothes and miscellaneous things together. I think my kids are more than ready to have a baby in the house…although I will be the first to admit that they have no idea how much things are going to be changing around here!!

I am going to be taking off all of May and at least half of June with the exception of a few sessions that I have in June for those that are a part of my Babies 1st Year program.

My last session before I start maternity leave will be April 16th so I can be sure that I have time to edit sessions and have all prints back to clients by May 1st. If you would like to set something up between now and April 16th and need a weekend session it would be best to email me ASAP as weekend sessions are always the first to book.

I have already had inquiries about summer sessions and have begun to schedule those. I will begin scheduling sessions for the end of June. I am always available through email so feel free to contact me if you want to schedule a session for this summer…it just might take me a few days to get back to you once the baby is here!

I also will begin 2nd shooting weddings this summer for a local wedding photographer, so again, if you NEED a weekend session it is best to book something early!

18 Days Old {Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

Baby "L" came to see me today. I have known her mom since elementary school! Usually I prefer not to photograph newborns after about 10 days...but "L" did great at 18 days old! Her big brother sure seems excited to have a little sister:)
