Spring! {Quad Cities Child Photographer}

Now that the weather is starting to get nice I thought I'd go in the backyard for a few minutes and try out the new camera and lens!  The lens I've had for awhile, but haven't really had a chance to use it out of the studio yet!  I broke my #1 rule....not having any writing or logos on clothing...but these were just quick snaps of Drew.  I can't wait till the grass is green and leaves on the trees!

10 day old twins {Photographer in the Quad Cities}

I had the opportunity to photograph twin boys this past weekend. Their mom was friends with my sister in high school.  The boys were sleeping when they got here and did great for the first 20 minutes or so.  It's a good thing we got some shots in right away because after that either one of the boys would be awake.  The hard part about photographing twins is that they hardly ever seem to sleep/be awake at the same time....at least for me!  Enjoy your sneak peak!

9 Months Old! {Quad Cities Child Photographer}

I did Mr. "H"'s 9 month pictures last week.  Boy is this little guy on the move!  He didn't want to sit still for even a second.  I didn't get as many images as I hoped to...I tried every trick that I know to get him to sit and none of it worked!  We still managed to get a few good ones though:)

Little Miss "M" 6 Months Old {Quad Cities Photographer}

Little "M" is a part of my Baby's 1st Year plan and stopped by today for her 6 month session.  She did SO great and was entirely different baby than when I last saw her at 3 months.  She was all smiles the entire time until she tipped over and bumped her head:(  Enjoy your sneak peak!

New Blog...

I'm working on a new blog since my old one was no longer going to be hosted at the same server.  So far it is going alright, but I've noticed already that the pictures don't look as clear and crisp as they should. This is just one of the issues that I'm going to have to figure out over the next few days!  I promise you that they don't look like that in real life...if you go to the main website you'll see how they should look.

I'll be working on building the new blog and changing the look over the next few days and weeks, so if you log on and it looks a mess, that is probably why:)

12 Day Old Baby "A" {Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

Meet baby "A". She was 12 days old today and did a fantastic job!! I went to their house this past Friday an was there about 2.5 hours and she didn't want to sleep at all. I'm so happy that I had them come back today to try again!!

Maternity Leave

As many of you may already know, I am expecting baby #3 in May! We have picked out a name, started to get the room ready and I’ve started getting all the clothes and miscellaneous things together. I think my kids are more than ready to have a baby in the house…although I will be the first to admit that they have no idea how much things are going to be changing around here!!

I am going to be taking off all of May and at least half of June with the exception of a few sessions that I have in June for those that are a part of my Babies 1st Year program.

My last session before I start maternity leave will be April 16th so I can be sure that I have time to edit sessions and have all prints back to clients by May 1st. If you would like to set something up between now and April 16th and need a weekend session it would be best to email me ASAP as weekend sessions are always the first to book.

I have already had inquiries about summer sessions and have begun to schedule those. I will begin scheduling sessions for the end of June. I am always available through email so feel free to contact me if you want to schedule a session for this summer…it just might take me a few days to get back to you once the baby is here!

I also will begin 2nd shooting weddings this summer for a local wedding photographer, so again, if you NEED a weekend session it is best to book something early!

18 Days Old {Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

Baby "L" came to see me today. I have known her mom since elementary school! Usually I prefer not to photograph newborns after about 10 days...but "L" did great at 18 days old! Her big brother sure seems excited to have a little sister:)

18 Months {Quad Cities Photographer}

I did this 18 month old a few weeks ago and have just forgotten to update it on my blog! 18 months is a hard age because these little ones don't want to stay still for even a second. Boy was this guy on the move:)

18 Months {Quad Cities Photographer}

This is my 2nd shoot that I did this weekend while in Chicago. Is he a cutie or what! I know parents always want a bunch of pictures to choose from, but honestly at this age you are lucky to get just one that you like. 18 month olds are so curious about their surroundings that it can sometimes be hard to get their attention!

1 Year old "A"

I traveled to Chicago this past weekend for my cousin's daughters 1st birthday party. While I was there we had a 1 year photo shoot. She didn't take her normal nap in the morning and wasn't her regular smiley self, but was still super cute!

Take 2-{Quad Cities Newborn Photographer}

After the session on Saturday we decided we would try again this morning and hope for more sleepy babies. I'm so glad that we tried again! These girls are so tiny and just so adorable...it is making me more exctied for my baby in May:)

Tutu's and headband are from Amanda at Teedles Tutu's. These make GREAT props!! Something to think about for your next session!

Twins! {Quad City Children's Photographer}

Saturday was a first for me...I had the opportunity to photograph twins! I have to admit I was a little nervous about it since I had never done it before. It really wasn't any different than my regular newborn session...you still get peed and pooped on and you do a lot of waiting for the baby to fall asleep....you just get peed and pooped on twice the amount and wait even longer for the babies to fall asleep!!! We got some shots in right away but after that I think the babies were just done! We waited for 2 hours for the girls to fall asleep but they were fighting it with everything they had! Mom said that they ended up sleeping 5 straight hours that afternoon. We are going to try again this week and hope for sleepier babies:)

Another cutie!! {Quad Cities Photographer}

I swear, this little guy gets cuter and cuter every time I see him!! I wish that pictures came with sound because the little squeals and laughs he made were just adorable. He is 9 months old now and is on the move...but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would have been. When they start walking is when it gets REALLY hard to get them to stay still! I am looking forward to his 1 year pictures...although, I don't see how it is possible for him to be any more adorable:)

Valentine's Day

Jordan has been BEGGING me the past week or so to take her Valentine's Day pictures. Of course I was happy to do them! I've been making the kids Valentine cards for school and they are always so excited to hand them out to their friends. I'm sure pretty soon they will be embarrassed to give them out and want the generic store bought ones, I so have to enjoy doing this while it lasts!
