Not so newlyweds {Quad Cities Photography}

Over the past couple of years I have gotten a few calls asking if I did weddings. My answer has always been no. First of all, I don't want that pressure. You have one chance to get it right, no do-overs! Secondly, having absolutely no experience in wedding photography, I don't want to be the one to ruin someones wedding pictures. I have always said that the only way I would ever even consider doing it was if the couple only had two options... it was going to be me or their uncle Bob with his Polaroid Insant camera taking pictures!

Well, I got a great opportunity to finally give it a chance. This couple actually got married over a year ago and due to some things out of their control were unable to have "real" wedding pictures. They didn't want anything elaborate...just a few pictures of them together.

I think if another similar situtation were to come my way where it was a VERY VERY small wedding or they wanted a few pictures after the fact I may do it. It's definetly a change of pace having the person you are taking pictures of actually do what you tell them to do!!

Miss G {Childrens Photographer Quad Cities}

I photographed this beauty this morning. I think that her Dad is going to have to keep her locked up in a few years! She is just adorable! The session didn't go necessarily how mom had planned...but 1 year olds have a mind of their own and you can't make them do something that they don't want to do! Regardless, I think we got a ton of cute shots...I don't think that his little girl can take a bad picture!

If you be good..... {Kids Photography Quad Cities}

I have quite a few sessions coming up using this location, so I thought I'd go out there again this morning to get few pictures! Of course I brought my fantastic model Drew with. It's amazing how well kids listen and do what you tell them to without whining and complaining with the promise of McDonald's afterwards if they do good! The entire time it was, "OK Mommy" or "sure Mommy". He was even picking out his own spots that he thought would be good! I'm all for bribing kids to get them to cooperate for pictures.

Trying WAY to hard to smile:)

Senior {Quad Cities Senior Photographer}

After having to reschedule last week due to rain, we were finally able to get this senior session done! His family wanted some pictures of he and his younger sister together as well. They are expecting a new baby sister later in the year which I'm sure will be a huge change for them. They are really great kids and I'm sure will make a cool brother and sister to look up to!

2 Years Old {Kids Photography Quad Cities}

This is the second time that I have photographed this little guy. His 2nd birthday is in a couple of days and mom and dad wanted to do a session in their backyard. I can't believe how well he is talking...using 5 and 6 word sentences! He is going to be a little smarty pants=)

Senior 2010 {Quad Cities Senior Photographer}

I photographed my husbands cousin yesterday morning. We couldn't have asked for better weather! I didn't realize that there was an even planned for downtown yesterday so it made parking kind of a pain. Her mom was so great with helping with poses. I told her I need to hire her for future sessions! Posing is still one area that I struggle with....especially with teens/adults. I'm so used to having to chase the little ones around that when I have someone that will actually sit still and listen to direction I don't know what to do!!=)

3 Months Old {Quad Cities Photographer}

I photographed 3 month old G yesterday afternoon. She wasn't to smiley, but I still got some great shots of her. It's hard to get a bad shot when you have such beautiful brown eyes. We tired to use the giant teapot, but she hated it! Maybe she'll still be able to fit in it for her 6 month pictures =)

Now accepting credit cards! {Child photographer in the Quad Cities}

After numerous requests, I've decided to start accepting credit cards! I have been hesitant to do so because of the horror stories I have heard in the past, but I think I'll try it out. If it ends up being more of hassle than it is worth I will discontinue accepting them. When you place your order there will be an option to pay with PayPal. You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account in order to make a payment. PayPal accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express or your debit card.

Because I am charged a fee to process the credit card, anyone who pays with cash or check will receive a set of wallets for free! Just let me know prior to you placing your order and I will give you a code for the set of free wallets.

New lens-new locations {Quad Cities Photographer}

I rented a lens this week that I want to try out before I buy it. I took Drew out for an hour or so just to check it out. I broke my own #1 rule....no clothing with words on it! As you can see, it is VERY distracting. I like the new locations though...can't wait to use them for client sessions!

Birthday Boy-{Photographer in the Quad Cities}

We did his cake smash session a few weeks ago, but mom wanted to do another session outdoors! His mom knew of a little courtyard right next door to her office, so we went there and also a park in Davenport. He isn't quite standing on his own yet, but that doesn't stop him from getting around=)

Kids Will Be Kids-Quad City Children's Photographer

My kids were playing on our bed this afternoon and I thought I'd get my camera out. I've realized recently that I don't take enough pictures of my own kids as much as I used to. Of course once the camera came out they weren't playing so cute anymore, but I did manage to get a few cute ones. And just to prove that my kids are just like everyone elses...sometime they just don't want to cooperate!!! FYI-this is how most of the pictures that I took today looked!

3 Months Old-Child Photographer in the Quad Cities

I photograped baby "H" this morning. As a mother, this was one of my favorite ages...when your child has their first smiles and you can start to see their personality emerging. As a photographer though, it is probably one of the toughest age groups to photograph since they can't sit on their own, yet you can't curl them up into any position and have the sleep the entire session like you would a newborn. His smiles were just so precious!! And you can tell how much he loves his mother already. The moment she moved out of eye sight you could just in his eyes that he looked sad...but as soon as he saw her again his entire face lit up!

8 days old-Newborn Photographer Quad Cities

I photographed 8 day old "H" this morning. He did SO well. The only time he cried was a the very end of the session and by that time I think everyone was ready to be done! You don't realize how tiring it can be sitting and waiting for a baby to fall asleep=) Being around such a perfect baby is really giving me baby fever(shh...don't tell my husband)! Enjoy your preview!
