This little guy came by yesterday. He was just starting to crawl so there wasn't to much chasing going on! He was happy the entire time and has the cutest smiles:)

Mr. W {Quad Cities Photographer}
How adorable it this little guy! He did such a great job for his mini session. Last minute I though I'd try the cowboy hat knowing it would probably be way to big. I'm SO glad I did!!!

1st birthday {Photographer in Bettendorf}
I have had just a ton of first birthday babies over the past month...and I know I have a couple of more this month too!
This cutie is a coworker of my husbands. She just started walking within the last couple of weeks and is super fast already. Mom got her workout in chasing after her :)

What to wear {Quad Cities Photographer}
The question most asked is by far, "What should we wear "? Once a month I will post on my blog and my FB a sample of what to wear. You can see that everyone isn't wearing the same thing, but is coordinating. You don't have to be afraid of print and pattern, but you don't want it to be overwhelming either. And don't forget to coordinate shoes too :)

6 days old {Newborn Pictures Quad Cities}
This baby girl is from the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. I've worked with her mom when I was living in the area and I am lucky enough to have them want me to continue to want to work me with even though I'm 1.5 hours away. Since I usually go to the new moms instead of them coming to me for the newborns I made the trek to their house! It took a bit to get her to go to sleep but one she did she was very easy to work with. Mom desperately wanted a picture of all 3 kiddos together but the middle one (2 years old) did not want anything to do with pictures:( Turns out he was a pretty sick little guy. No wonder he didn't want to smile!
9 days old {Newborn Pictures Quad Cities}
This guy was quite the little stinker! I was there a little over 2 hours and he slept MABYE 15 minutes total. I always tell moms that I expect the newborn sessions to go 2-3 hours. They always apologize over and over again that they are so sorry when they can't get the baby to go to sleep.....there is nothing to be sorry about! I expect these sessions to be long and if you happen to have a super good sleeper, great! Once you get them to sleep we can be done in 30-40 minutes. It's the trying to get them asleep and then staying asleep that is the hard part. I think I got some great pics in the 15 minutes he was asleep :)
1st birthday {Photographer in Bettendorf}
When her mom said she was going to bring 4 outfits for her I thought, "Yeah right, we'll be lucky if we get to 2 of them". OMG...this little girl did SO good. Not a single tear, she didn't try to run away, and did GREAT with her cake smash! Around 9 or so months babies start being afraid of strangers...some just take a bit to warm up and some never do at all. This one didn't need any help warming up :)

Miss A is 1 year {Photographer in the Quad Cities}
Wow, that year went fast. I did Miss A's newborn pictures and it hardly seems like a year ago. She didn't know what to think about this session. She was all smiles and then when the flash started going off she wanted nothing to do with it anymore! And she really disliked her cake too :( Of course she loved the hard flowers on the cake that were a chocking hazard and cried when they were taken away. Oh well! You just never know if they are going to dive right into the cake or want nothing to do with it!

Mini Sessions {Quad Cities Photographer}
In January I added a new session option, a mini-session. A mini-session is 20-30 minutes in length and includes one background/outfit. The cost is $100 and includes a CD of all of the images from your gallery (usually 10+ images). Mini-sessions can be outdoors or in studio.
There are just a couple of rules for the mini-session. It is not available for babies under 6 months or for families. Why? For families it takes a little longer to get people into poses and takes longer to get shots where EVERYONE is looking at the camera…. especially if you have young children. Babies under 6 months sometimes need to take short breaks for feedings and since the session is so short there just isn’t time.
If you think your child will need a few extra minutes to warm up to the camera or if you want multiple outfit changes the mini-session probably isn’t a good option for you. But, if your child isn’t shy and you just want a handful of good pictures or if you need some pictures for Grandma’s birthday, this option would be perfect for you!
If you have any questions please feel free to email!
1st Valentine's Day {Baby Photographer Quad Cities}
I think that this little stinker just knows when it is time to have pictures taken and decides she doesn't want to go to sleep. This is the 2nd time I have photographed this cutie and both times she fights sleeping. FINALLY at the end of the session we were able to get her to sleep so we could get the one pose with the candy hearts that mom really wanted.

Fab 4th Birthday {Photography in the Quad Cities}
How fabulous is this birthday party! I wish my mom had put 1/4 of thought and effort into my birthday parties as a kid! Her mom didn't miss a single detail from the monogramed teacups to the feather boas. I think she has found a new profession in party planning!

Designer Frames {Quad Cities Photographer}
I am so excited to announce that I am now a vendor for Organic Bloom Frames! How cool are these frames. They come in a ton of different shapes and colors. I love that they are unique yet modern and not something that everyone is going to have. Your friends are going to be so jealous when they see these frames on your walls!
If you have been to my house, you know that I'm afraid of color! Everything is beige. This was a little way for me to get some color into my house without feeling like I was going to be stuck with it forever like I would be with a lime green couch!
If you are interested in pricing send me an email! Kristin@kristingeertsphotography.com Frames take 2-3 weeks to order.

7 day old {Newborn Photography Quad Cities}
The last time I saw this family their little girl was just turning one. It really is crazy how fast they grow up! Now she is a big sister and this family of 3 just got a little bigger with the addition of "S". They had the most gorgeous light in their bedroom so we did a family picture there. I think that the family bed is my new favorite place for family pictures...especially with a newborn and a young child. It can be hard, if not impossible for the little ones to stay still and being in a place they feel more comfortable in their own house in instead of my studio I think helps a lot! Plus, me coming to new moms makes it MUCH easier on mom!
And this next one was a one in a million shot. If you asked me to recreate it I could never do it!
