August/September Special! {Quad Cities Baby Photographer}

Hello everyone! For the months of August and September I will be offering a CD of ALL of the images in your gallery for $250 including your sitting fee. These images will be edited and at full resolution and will include a print authorization.  I will also upload the CD to an online printer that has great quality and is VERY reasonably priced.

I have had people in the past few months ask if I would sell the CD and I have been hesitant to do so. But, I thought that I can give it a try for a couple of months and if people seem to like it I will offer it along with
my regular print packages.

I'm hoping that by offering the CD it will save YOU money, since many of my clients spend more than $250 and will save ME time in processing orders...time which I don't have so much of anymore with 3 kids!

2 year old in the park {Baby Photographer Quad Cities}

I photographed Miss M again over the weekend.  When we first got started I was super surprised how well she was doing.  She would stop and smile and pose all on her own for me!  Most 2 year old don't do that.  At 2 you have to chase them around and hope you get more than just a flash in front of the camera.  She ended up being a regular 2 year old after about 15 minutes...but hey, sometimes all you need is 15 minutes to get some great shots!!

I'm sure it's just because he is mine, but how cute is Drew! He has been asking for a mohawk.  If we weren't going on vacation in a few weeks I might consider letting him...so instead he got a fauxhawk.  He keeps asking me if he looks like a real rock star now:)

Blurry pictures???

For some reason all of my pictures on the blog aren't looking very sharp.  If you click on the picture it will bring up a nice sharp version of it.  I'm not sure what the issue is.  I can assure you that my images are not out of focus!!

Life as a photographers child {Davenport photographer}

Doesn't she know that her mom is a photographer?  She better start getting used to having her picture taken!  I thought I'd attempt to get a few pics of all 3 of the kids together since it was so nice out.  Riley was just not having it...either was Drew really.  Just about all 50 or so pictures that I took ended up like this.  I guess it just wasn't her day:(  I did get a couple of ok ones....

I photographed ADROABLE Miss A at the Butterworth Center in Moline on Saturday.  I was worried that since it had stormed the night before that it would be a muddy mess, but it was surprisingly dry.  A's mom warned me before we met that she had a fear of cameras and that they haven't had a professional photo of her since she was 6 months old because she was just scared to death of them.  I hoped that since we were outdoors it would make her feel more comfortable being able to run around and explore.  She was a bit shy at first and I was worried that it wasn't going to work out but she ended up doing great:)

I had the opportunity last weekend to shadow a wedding with Jennifer from Elizabeth Somes Images.  I hope to start 2nd shooting with Jennifer once I shadow a few more weddings!  This was my first wedding and I have to say I was pretty nervous being behind the scenes for a wedding of a couple I didn't know.  As the day/night went on I felt more and more comfortable and learned a ton!  I am going to shadow Elizabeth for a wedding in July and I'm looking forward to applying what I learned from this past wedding:)  Here is a small sampling of what I captured that day.

What to Wear {Quad Cities Children's Photography}

I hope that these "What to Wear" posts really help out in deciding what to wear for photo sessions.  Remember, you don't want to be all matchy matchy but you want to wear similar colors.  As you see here, pattern can be good, but if you have everyone in a different pattern it can be distracting.

Tutu Cute {Children's Photography Quad Cities}

We did Miss M's 9 month pictures this morning before the huge storm this afternoon hit.  She did such a great job.  She wasn't very excited to have her pictures taken at first but near the end of the session was giving me some HUGE smiles thanks to her mom:)   Enjoy your sneak peak!

What to Wear {Quad Cities Children's Photography}

The question that I get asked the most is, "What should we wear"? It is really hard trying to explain to someone what looks good in pictures and what doesn't.  Here are a few quick tips:  You should coordinate, but not match!  Try to avoid stripes and plaids and for sure avoid anything with writing or large logos. Don't forget about shoes. But most importantly, you should feel comfortable in it.

I am going to try to do one post a week that shows a good example of what to wear for pictures.  Everything will be affordable from GAP, Old Navy, Children's Place, Gymboree, etc.

Cake Smash!!! {Quad Cities Child Photographer}

Mr. H is a part of my Baby's 1st Year Plan and although I'm not "officially" back to work yet, I really wanted to do this session.  The cake smash and the 6 month session are my favorites!!  He had the best time with his cake and just LOVED the frosting. 

Summer sessions

Now that the weather is nice and everything is nice and green it is time to start thinking about booking your summer session! Summer sessions can be scheduled for anytime after June 28th. Contact me to schedule a session if you are interested!
